Restricted P.A.L. Certification

Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course (CRFSC)

Canadian legislation stipulates that individuals wishing to acquire restricted and/or prohibited firearms must successfully pass both the Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC) and Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course (CRFSC) along with the tests and examinations that accompany them. As of 2015, it is not possible to challenge the examinations without taking the courses. Furthermore, students must successfully pass all components of the CFSC before they may begin the CRFSC.

The Restricted PAL certification course is 6 hours in duration to complete.

The CRFSC certification courses at Bent Safety Courses are available on weekends from 8:30am to 5pm. We also have courses scheduled during the week over two evenings from 6:30pm – 10:00pm. Everything you will need to pass the course examinations will be taught with plenty of time to ask questions, this includes personal hands on instruction in handling the various types of restricted firearms followed by a comprehensive review of the material to ensure you are prepared.

The examination consists of a written test and a practical test. The written exam is made up of 50 questions all of which are “true or false” or “multiple-choice”. The practical examination consists of a series of actions that you will be asked to perform with various restricted firearms in order to demonstrate that you are proficient in the safe handling of firearms.

In order to pass the examination you must get 80% or better on both components to successfully pass and to be able to apply for a non-restricted Possession and Acquisition License.
